Neighbourhood

As revealed by its name, our Saleya apartment is located in a prime location – right on the Cours Saleya – home to the infamous market – selling flowers, vegetables or antiques, depending on the day. Its location could not be more convenient – just a 15 mins drive from Nice airport. If you arrive by car, you can drive straight into the Cours Saleya public parking, located below the apartment. 

What makes this home truly special is that everything your heart desires is a step away. Fresh produce, bakeries, beaches, parks, restaurants, supermarkets, high fashion, museums, theatres, playgrounds etc – everything is within a stone’s throw. Guests will find themselves leisurely walking in and out of the apartment throughout the day. 

Within less than a minute walk, you can reach the Promenade des Anglais and the beach – or in the opposite direction, the colorful streets of the Old Town of Nice. Place Masséna, considered to be the heart of Nice is less than 5 mins walk. The tramway stop is located a couple of minutes away, and will take you anywhere in Nice, including the Nice-Ville train station.

Building

The unassuming entrance of the apartment is in the middle of the Cours Saleya, between fruit and flower stands. Through the big windows, life at the market below will unfold in front of your eyes. In the morning, watch the flower stands being set up. In the evening, you can find yourself listening to the live music and bustling atmosphere of one of Nice’s prime locations. All from the comfort and privacy of your home.

The apartment enjoys a privileged location on the first floor of an original Niçois building – above a restaurant. There is no elevator – approximately 10 steps only to reach this private abode. 

 

One of the highlights of this unique apartment has to be the private roof top. Guests will delight in the beautiful views all the way to the sea and waterfall on the Colline du Château. 

Please note that access to the terrace is possible via a windy staircase – it is not suitable for young children or elderly folk. 

 

Living Area

Stepping into the apartment, guests will be amazed by the open plan living area - it's a beautiful space that seamlessly combines the kitchen, dining area, and lounge. Decorated with a creative eye, artwork and statues grace the space - making it a welcoming and inviting place to spend time. 

Wonderfully eclectic, it’s also the perfect place to host meals – the large dining table can accommodate up to 10 guests.

Guests can also enjoy a quick meal or a casual coffee around the round table in the kitchen, as they watch the world go by through the tall windows.

This apartment is ideal for those looking for a place to connect with friends and family. With comfortable couches and plenty of space, it's the perfect spot to have quality conversations – or perhaps sit back and enjoy a movie in the TV corner. 

 

 

Kitchen

It would be a crime to not have a perfectly equipped kitchen, overlooking a vegetable market with the best produce of the region! 

The abundance of countertop space is perfect for prepping and cooking meals and the modern appliances make it a breeze to use. A full-size Smeg fridge and freezer, a four-ring stove top, oven, microwave and dishwasher – this kitchen has it all! But even the best chefs may be tempted to enjoy meals out with over 30 different restaurants to chose from, at your doorstep.

 

Bedrooms

The four double bedrooms are conveniently placed at the back of the apartment, to provide restful sleep at night. Each bedroom enjoys a  King size bed (two of which can be split into separate single beds if needed).  

Each bedroom enjoys AC and black out blinds. 

 

 

Bathrooms & WC

Both bathrooms have been beautifully renovated with stunning style with marble tiles. Both enjoy a large Italian walk-in shower with rainhead, toilet, a washbasin with vanity unit, and mirror. There is also a separate WC.

There is a separate laundry room with both washing machine and dryer for guest’s convenience.

 

Particulars

This apartment enjoys the unique and rare privilege of private access to a rooftop terrace. The lounging space and furniture makes a prime spot for al fresco aperitifs. Please note that access to this terrace is done via a spiral staircase and a rooftop hatch. The access is not suitable for young children or elderly folk. 

Whether you’d like to watch the sunset from your private terrace, step out for dinner at one of the many restaurants, or enjoy an intimate family dinner in, this apartment is the ultimate city escape!

-- Beach towels are available in the holiday rental property, but must be left clean, ready for the next guest. Otherwise, a supplement of 15€ per beach towel will be charged via credit card upon departure.

We had an incredible stay!! The location is amazing, convenient to everything - the market, restaurants, the beach, etc. The decor is so quirky and fun, with plenty of space for our group of 8 to spread out. The rooftop patio is also incredible - would just recommend putting lights out there so it can be enjoyed in the evening! Great stay!

Absolutely loved our stay, it was a perfect size for 8 ladies, with quirky decor, lots of space, lots of mirrors. The rooftop was great, we wish we had more time to enjoy it. The property was well equipped and had more than you'd need. The location couldn't be any better, everything was on your doorstep, everywhere was in walking distance so only taxi needed was for the airport. The host was super responsive and flexible with check in and out. Would highly recommend!

Not enough superlatives to say about the place. First, LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. The Cours Saleya market is right outside the door which we frequented nearly every day, which not only includes the open air market of foods, flowers and local arts/crafts, but also restaurant after restaurant all with outdoor seating. The promenade and beach is just a block away and Old Town is also just steps from this location. The unit itself was very clean and well appointed. We had a group of 7 and we fit comfortably. The bedrooms are also strategically located in the back of the unit so we did not hear the crowd noise from the Cours Saleya which is very lively until very late in the evening. And I'd be remiss not to mention the huge rooftop patio with amazing views of the water and surrounding area (although getting up there may be difficult for someone with physical limitations). If we ever come back to Nice we'd seek this unit out to stay again.

This apartment is a gem. Pics don’t do this place justice. The eclectic furnished rooms were beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable. The kitchen had all the amenities you need for a home away from home. The bathrooms were clean and modern and the beds were comfortable and relaxing. It is conveniently located in the center of Old Town and as soon as you walk out the door you are in the midst of markets, vendors, restaurants, and stores. With all the hustle and bustle outside, you don't hear the noise while in the apartment. The bedrooms are in the back and it was very quiet at night. Even more amazing you are a short walk to the promenade and sea. You could not pick a better location! The service was also amazing. The host communicated fast and was very helpful from restaurant suggestions to transportation. All in all, it was an amazing place to stay and added to our wonderful vacation in the south of France.

The apartment is in a great location near the old town and beach. It is a beautiful big space that was full of very eclectic cool artworks. The roof terrace was a highlight overlooking the market. Sunlight properties were very responsive before and during our stay with local recommendations and Elena was very helpful on check in and supportive when we had a personal issue that needed us to delay check out. Definitely somewhere to revisit.

What a fun place to stay overlooking the French Riviera and the saleyah market! Walk out to the market all day/night. One block to the beach. They included our airport transfer which was flawless. This is the perfect Airbnb in Nice.

The stay at Saleya was wonderful. My wife, two adult daughters and their significant others were extremely comfortable and we easily could have hosted another couple. The location could not be any better. The street in front of the property is very lively with restaurants and bars, yet inside you barely knew all the excitement was happening outside the windows and steps away. During the day the market set up on the street provided great opportunities for flowers, fresh fruits, and multiple unique craft purchases! The bedrooms were quiet and private with access to balconies and porch. The living area is exactly as in the photos and perfect for hanging out. The private rooftop seating area was fantastic for enjoying a view of the sea and the street activity. The hosts were always accessible and proactive with wonderful recommendations. I highly recommend this treasure.
