Neighbourhood

The domain is located in the hills of La Colle sur Loup, only 15 minutes to the charming village of Saint Paul de Vence and 30 minutes from Nice Airport.

Enjoy the peace and quiet of this hill side retreat, whilst still benefitting from the proximity to the sparkling Mediterranean coast.   

Building

The villa has been completely refurbished to a high standard, while still maintaining its historic charm. Indeed, these authentic walls once protected the royal family, as the villa served as Queen Elizabeth’s hunting retreat.

The home was designed and furnished in a modern Provençal style with comfort in mind. It enjoys 3 floors of beautiful rooms. 

The gated entrance insures ultimate privacy. This leads to a large parking area, that can fit up to 8 cars, including 3 sheltered spots. 

Potted plants, fruit trees and trelises will accompany you to the several leveled terraces. 

A private elevator also is available as an alternative direct access to the villa. 

 

Living Area

The villa offers an open living plan, featuring a spacious living room and dining area. The interior space is bright with natural light and decorated to a high standard.

The large windows allow for an unparalleled view of St Paul de Vence and the Mediterranean sea from the comfort of the large divan. The seating area inside allows for 5 to gather comfortably in front of the entertainment set. Sit back and enjoy a movie on the flat screen TV, or simply marvel at the view.  

The authentic stone open fireplace stands in the corner and adds to the cosiness of this gorgeous home.

There are numerous outdoor dining and lounge areas for relaxation and entertainment, including the large covered terrace off the main living area, all of which benefit from the panoramic sea and hill views.

The large bay windows allows for easy access to the gardens and terraces which really allows guests to live both indoor and outdoors.

Kitchen

This holiday rental villa enjoys the added benefit of two adjacent kitchens, located in the west wing of the house. 

The first one, originally named the "summer kitchen", is perfectly organised around a tall darkwood table with comfortable seating for 6.

The rustic wooden beams and hardwood floors deliciously contrast with an otherwise sleek and sophisticated look, with dark cabinets and marble finishes. The brown color palette of the kitchen walls works brilliantly as a backdrop for the focus of the room: the stunning sea view one can observe from the large glass windows. 

Gorgeous and highly functional, it makes for a great area to spend one's time in, may it be to share a coffee or prepare some heavenly dishes. Amenities include a 5 ring gas stove top, oven  & microwave, two fridges, large freezer and dishwasher.

A door at the back of the kitchen gives access to a sheltered terrasse, as well as access to the outdoor deck where the jacuzzi is located.

The second kitchen is directly next to the first one, and stands adjacent to the dining area. The rustic nature of this space is reminded throughrout: from the color of the stones, to the light tiles, to the color of the gorgeous stone kitchen island and the pendant lights. You will find these oriental lights follow through the house adding light and charm in every room. It is simple yet impressive with wonderfully chosen materials. The stone wall’s color is lighter than the rod iron framing the large arched window, therefore perfectly complementing one another.

Whilst the aesthetics of the kitchen interior provide a natural and minimalistic setting, it is still perfectly equipped. It enjoys a large 5 ring gas stove top and oven.

With plenty of counter top space and storage space, this kitchen ideally complements the first one. Its relaxed atmosphere sublimes the coziness of its neighbouring room. 

The large glass doors give access to the firewood storage area, as well as to a path up to the gardens, or down to the parking area.

Bedrooms

As you enter the stone foyer of this gorgeous luxury holiday rental villa in the South of France, you will find the original stone stairway taking you up 2 floors. 

On the first level, you will find the Master Bedroom and Children’s Room.  Another half level up, you will find a WC with toilet and sink.

The Master Bedroom has a Super King (190cm) bed, a large plasma flat screen TV, 3 large dresser drawers for your clothes, bookshelves, 2 bedside tables and reading lamps.  There is a large walk-in closet and changing area with several meters of hanging space, several full length mirrors, more drawer space, and a private WC with toilet with hand sink.  An extra large private bathroom is found just past the walk-in closet. A detailed description can be found in the ‘Bathrooms’ section below.

Across the hallway is a smaller Children’s Room’ with a Double (140cm) bed, two bedside tables, reading lamps plus a set of drawers, and two closets for storage.  The room enjoys a gorgeous working fireplace and terrace with wonderful sea views. The terrace has a door that can be left open to allow easy access to the upper level garden terraces and pool area. This door can also be locked for safety. 

A separate water closet with hand basin and toilet that is found on the half landing, going up to the second floor.

On the second floor you will find the third and fourth bedrooms along with a separate laundry room. 

The third bedroom has immense ceilings of over 4 meters high giving this luxury holiday rental villa bedroom a feeling of grandeur.  It is decorated with an element of the orient and travels abroad… an oversized intricate handmade birdcage, two gigantic bamboo vases imported from India, and ethnic metal chandeliers hang from the ceilings.   A matching oversized bamboo headboard heads the King sized bed (160cm) and enjoys a lovely reading chair with reading lamp just beside it. Hanging space can be found behind the gigantic headboard and a well-traveled ancient Chinese cabinet to fold your clothes into finishes off the room.

The fourth and final Guest bedroom is the smallest of all the bedrooms. It enjoys its own private shower room with sink.  There is a Double bed (140cm), with bedside table and reading lamp.  Find a small hanging space with a large dresser for folding your clothes.

Just before entering the last bedroom, there is a laundry room with a separate washer and tumble dryer, a professional iron and ironing board, linen closet and sink area. 

A half level up, and the last level, there is a full bathroom with shower, wash basin and toilet.

All bedrooms enjoy private individual air conditioning and heater units, which can be set at the temperature each individual guest prefers.  There also enjoy the original Provençal French shutters for each window allowing to limit daylight when sleeping in.

Bathrooms

There are a total of six bathrooms and water closets.

The first bathroom is found as you are entering the holiday rental villa, towards the East or right side of the holiday rental villa, just before accessing the office area.  Painted in cream, it has a floating toilet and marble stone hand basin.

The second bathroom can be found in the West wing above the summer kitchen. It has a walk-in shower, towel heater, hand basin with mirror, and cabinet space for bathroom necessities.  There is a separate water closet with toilet just across from it.

The third bathroom is en-suite to the Master Bedroom.  You will find a large velvet armchair to comfortably relax and change before your big day on the Cote d’Azur.  There is a modern ‘waterfall’ standalone bathtub, which enjoys a large window and gorgeous view out into the greenery of the villa’s garden. Enjoy the large shared walk-in shower area with ‘his and hers’ showers, both with individual rain and handheld showerheads.  Find a double hand basin, with mirror and drawer space underneath.   You will also find a flat screen TV and towel warmer, to ensure the perfect end to your day.  There is a separate toilet area with sink just next to it.

The fourth bathroom is another en-suite to the fourth bedroom, considered the ‘Guest room’.   It has a walk-in shower, towel heater, hand basin with mirror and cabinets for your bathroom essentials.

The Fifth bathroom is a full bathroom and is found on the very last half floor.  It has a walk-in shower, towel heater, hand basin with mirror and toilet. 

There is an extra stand-alone water closet on the half landing, just past the first floor.  The water closet offers a private toilet and hand basin for the bedrooms without en-suite bathrooms.

Outdoors

This gorgeous holiday rental villa is organised in terrasses creating several decked lounging areas.

South-facing, the first level enjoys a sunken hot tub with outdoor furniture - making for the perfect star-gazing spot. A four-post sheltered hamac stands to the right, with comfortable pillows - an dream option for relaxing with a view!

The villa is located on the "main" level. Enjoy the sheltered lounging and dining area straight of the main living area.

The large pool area on the top level, above the villa completes the offering. An outstanding space to spend the summer! Outdoor seating for four is organised on a wooden deck, with the nice option of parasols for shade. A large stone fire pit stands to the left, making evening barbeques a very tempting possibility. 

A few meters away, a wooden shelter protects an elevated lounging space, with comfortable bean bags. 

Wooden deck surrounds the pool, creating a very welcoming space with 6 colourful loungers.

Surrounding you area the 4.1 hectares of beautiful grounds and forests. Perfect for exploring and even stumbling upon wildlife... You will be sharing the domain with pheasants and wild rabbits!

 

Particulars

This luxury holiday rental villa in La Colle Sur Loup includes its own private office. The area is large, at about 8sqm, and is located in the East wing of the villa. There is a desk, with chairs for guests.  A cabinet to store office supplies and paperwor stands to the right, with a computer screen allowing you visual access to the security cameras that surround the villa, forest area and generally throughout the whole domain.This includes the entry gates and parking areas. Last but not least, find two separate wine ‘caves’ or fridges that have electronically controlled temperature features for both Red and White wine.

Security Deposit & Rules

-- Luxury Villa Security Deposit of 2000€: 1500€ to be taken by bank transfer 2 weeks before arrival, returned once property checked for damage. A 500€ block will be administered by valid Credit Card on arrival, charged only when damage occurs over and above 1500€.

-- No Smoking, inside property Smoking outside is permitted if there is a terrace or balcony available in your holiday rental apartment in Nice / holiday rental villa in the South of France.
